African American Little Mermaid

An African American Little Mermaid!  It’s been announced that R&B singer Halle Bailey has been cast as Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. As a black woman and owner of Amazing Fairytale Parties, I am excited beyond the moon over this news. I love that the children we service will have the ability to look at the Little Mermaid and see themselves or someone they love.

When we attend birthday parties, we get a variety of requests for birthday party characters. The moment we found out that Halle was playing the Little Mermaid, we began casting for our own black little mermaid. We are so excited to offer her for princess parties and singing telegrams.

In fact, we are proud to say that we have always believed in diverse princess party performers playing various characters. Characters such as the Snow Queen, Belle, and Cinderella, have all been played by various princess entertainers.  Adding the Little Mermaid to the list is something we have always dreamed of.
